Description

Conference series dedicated to catch up with the recent Theoretical and Experimental developments in the broad range of fields covered by our newborn center CAPA,  as well as with the adventures and misfortunes of our dear young expats.

This year we will have a mixed format, in-person meetings with zoom broadcast (https://rediris.zoom.us/j/7818936953)

Description and status of the KM3NeT experiment 1h Seminario de Física Atómica y Nuclear y ONLINE https://rediris.zoom.us/j/7818936953

Seminario de Física Atómica y Nuclear y ONLINE https://rediris.zoom.us/j/7818936953

The KM3NeT collaboration is building two neutrino detectors in the Mediterranean Sea. The primary goals are to determine the neutrino mass ordering as well as the detection of cosmic neutrino sources. In this presentation I will describe the scientific motivations, the detectors and report on their current status.

MADMAX: axion dark matter search with dielectric haloscopes 1h ONLINE https://rediris.zoom.us/j/7818936953

      ONLINE https://rediris.zoom.us/j/7818936953

Motivated initially to solve the Strong CP problem, the axions are strong candidates of cold dark matter. If the axions are generated after cosmic Inflation, they are likely to have a mass around 100 µeV, beyond the reach of the conventional cavity-based experiments. The MADMAX collaboration aims to detect the post-inflationary QCD axion using a new detector concept; a dielectric haloscope. I will explain the principle of detection, report current measurement using a proof-of-principle setup, and describe the plan to scan the parameter space of 40-400 µeV.

How to detect GWs in cavities 1h ONLINE https://rediris.zoom.us/j/7818936953

      ONLINE https://rediris.zoom.us/j/7818936953

I will describe how GWs alter the dynamics of cavities, focusing on EM SRF cavities. I will mostly describe the way in which the passage of GWs generates mode mixing by either their effect on the EM field or by interacting with the boundaries of the cavity. For completeness, I'll also mention the way GWs interact with systems of spin. I shall finish with rough estimates of some current detectors
