Financial support, travel and accommodation

IMPORTANT INFORMATION (COVID-19):

Please note that the Covid-19 pandemic will not be over by the time of the school and travel requirements concerning proof of vaccination or negative covid test might be required by your country of departure, your own institution and/or the Greek government (https://eody.gov.gr/en/covid-19/) on arrival. Make sure that you comply with these requirements prior to your trip.

There may be additional testing requirements for in-person participants (depending on the government guidelines); details will be provided at a later time before the school starts.

It is strongly advised that participants take refundable and cancellable travel and accommodation arrangements offered by most service providers, or purchase a travel cancellation insurance that includes force majeure like pandemic or any other type of emergency. Cancellation insurance fees for travel tickets are eligible expenses under the COST rules (see COST Vademecum, sections 5 and 6) for those participants who have reimbursement of their long-distance trip (see below).

Participation in the school does not require any participation fees, but is subject to approval by the organization committee. Participants have to cover their travel, accommodation and local expenses, where there are packages for accommodation and meals available from the Corfu Summer Institute.

Moreover, around 40 trainees of the school will benefit from the reimbursement of their long-distance trip  and a daily allowance of 60 € to be used to cover their accommodation and living expenses (this financial support is only possible for students coming from one of the 28 participating COST Member Countries, see list at https://www.cost.eu/actions/CA18108/#tabs|Name:Parties). Note that there is the possibility to book accommodation in a shared double room in one of the recommended hotels and with the low-cost arrangement for meals, but students could also look for other, even more affordable, options (including airbnb, camping etc.). Indicate whether you would like to apply for this reimbursement in the registration page.

Confirmation of participation approval and of financial support will be sent by the end of July.
